The Circassian Museum invites you to discover a hidden world nearby. When arriving at the museum you are welcomed by a local guide in authentic dress, who takes you on an ideal introductory tour of the Circassian heritage. The visit begins with a fascinating lecture about the history and culture of the Circassian nation, clarifying the facts behind their existence in Northern Israel. Stories are told of the community´s unique customs that have been preserved to this day and you discover how high the Circassian woman´s status in the family is. At the end of the lecture, the guide continues with a tour among the museum exhibits. Thereafter, you are invited to a guided tour of Kfar Kama´s ancient nucleus where you are exposed to the thousands of Circassian residents; ancient houses build of black basalt rocks and cultivated gardens; perfectly quiet, picturesque alleyways; and cleanliness and order in the public domain. We visit the mosque, one of the most impressive in Israel, and listen to stories of the transition of the Circassians to the Islamic faith against the backdrop of its prestigious minaret. Prior to completing the tour, we visit a side building for live show of Circassian dancing by a duo of dancers accompanied by an accordionist from the group Tipsa. Finally, we enjoy a special, sumptuous Circassian meal in the finest Circassian hospitality tradition at the Cherkessia Restaurant. The tour lasts about three hours.
